Yesterday was day 1 of my kinder-2nd grade class! Yesterday was day 1 of my kinder-2nd grade class! We had so much fun talking about this great big world we live in! We also talked about where rain 🌧️ comes from and the water cycle. They enjoyed creating a rain cloud in a jar with shaving cream and colored water. They loved the big swing and eating tomatoes from garden. Looking forward to a great year! 🍎

Ok, these were so fun! I’m about out of paper be Ok, these were so fun! I’m about out of paper because these girls were doing them all afternoon 😆 One nice thing about this is you can make the images as simple or complex as your child wants. Make sure to save this post so you can remember how to do it with your kids! 💛
📢 Any mamas on here new to homeschooling?! 🙋 📢 Any mamas on here new to homeschooling?! 🙋‍♀️I’m starting my 7th year, and I am by no means a professional or have all the answers, but I wanted to send some encouragement to the moms who are feeling overwhelmed at the thought of starting their homeschooling journey. I’ve been there, girl. 😳

I wrote a blog post about 5 ways you can lessen the stress when you are just starting out.

An overview:

1. 📆 Routine over Schedule- this is not trying to recreate traditional school at home.

2. 🏞️ Freedom of location - the world is your classroom

3. 📖 Curriculum is meant to serve your family- test out to see what works

4. 👯‍♀️👯‍♀️Community - we are in this together!

5. ⚽️🎨🎤Follow their lead - learning is way more fun that way

Click on the link in my profile to read all the details.

Seasoned mamas, I want you to chime in here! What would you tell your overwhelmed self at the beginning of your homeschooling journey? Drop an encouraging word below for the moms who need it! 👇
Nature Art! This was a fun one 🌿🎨 How to: - Nature Art! This was a fun one 🌿🎨

How to:
-Collect various leaves and flowers that will lay flat on the paper
-Paint one page with clean water, then fill with warm colors
-While the page is still wet, lay your leaves and flowers facing down, one at a time.
-Paint the top of them with more warm colors
-Don’t touch and leave them to completely dry
-Repeat same steps with the opposite page, but using cool colors

That’s it! This is such a neat way to incorporate nature into your art.

Who wants to try?? 🫟🌸🍀
